Authenticity is a rarity in today’s music industry. Raw vocal talent seems to be overshadowed by gimmicks and false personas, especially within the realm of male R&B. But those days are soon to change with the arrival of the newest voice on the scene: Authentik.
bred, Tim Page, aka, Authentik, is ready to take on the world with music from
his heart and soul. A singer and songwriter, Authentik, like most R&B
singers, found his roots singing in church at the young age of 5, and continued
to share his gift with all who would hear it. In high school, he further
pursued his musical experience by joining choirs, studying classical music and
even partaking in musical theater. He was also instrumental in forming a
singing group called “Harmoniously Speaking” which helped lead him to choose a
major in Music at the Westminster Choir College of Rider University in
Princeton. There, he not only honed his skills as a singer, but also began
learning the ins and outs of the music business as well as music education.
However, Authentik’s path to stardom was abruptly cut short with the untimely passing of his father in 2003. Choosing to be a cornerstone for his family, he decided to leave the music behind and join the corporate world. But this detour didn’t last long as his tenacity for music and performance never left. Joining up with a few friends, he began work on his first ever mixtape entitled, Classified. This mix of 90s R&B and hip hop made way for Authentik to began performing at events all around the New Jersey and Philly areas ultimately leading him in the graces of such legends like DJ Jazzy Joyce as well as radio play and DJ spins.
With his first offering under his belt, Authentik is now forging ahead for the first time with original material. Hooking up with the creative collective Reckless Abandon, songwriter and producer A-natural, and artist, visionary, and Blackstreet member Lenny Harold, Authentik is working hard on his next offering leading off with his debut single, “On 2 Da Next”. Already catching the ear of some of today’s biggest stars like Keyshia Cole, Raheem Devaughn, Tichina Arnold, Pam Long of Total, and Lil' Mo he seems to be off to an amazing start! Authentik believes that truly good music comes from an authentic heart, and he plans to show the world his heart with each song, video, and performance.
